Ecuadorian Sebastian mangos fill gap in Mexican gap
Despite Mexico being one of the largest mango growing and consumer countries in the world, they have no local production during the October – December period, and this is when imported Ecuadorian mangos fill in this gap.
Based in Guayaquil – Ecuador, REFIN S.A. is one of the most complete tropical produce shippers in the country. REFIN started operating 10 years ago dealing mainly in mangos, later their export program was expanded to other products such as limes, plantains, malanga, yuca, amongst others.
REFIN’S mangos are present in the Mexican market under the Sebastian brand, teaming up with local company H&C Global Supplies based in Guadalajara, Mexico with a wide range of experience in the distribution of fine fruit and vegetables in Mexico and the United States.
According to Mr. Bernardo Malo, CEO of REFIN and Mr. Manuel Hernandez, CEO of H&C Global Supplies, Ecuadorian mangos are becoming more popular in the Mexican market due to there consistent quality and taste. The Sebastian, Tommy, Haden, Kent and Ataulfo brands are distributed among the most reputed retailers in Mexico such as HEB, Wal-Mart, Sams Club and Soriana.
